Tarpon Caye is a well-known island in southern Belize, near Placencia. It’s divided into two parts, with a resort on one part (not for sale). The other part is about 8.5 acres, with 2 acres filled . The rest is a mix of mangrove and solid land, with many coconut trees and other plants replanted. It’s just 15 miles from Placencia, a quick boat ride away.
The island is famous for fishing and is surrounded by coral reefs, perfect for snorkeling. It’s also near whale shark habitats and dive sites, about 6 miles from the barrier reef. The island has protected lagoons, great for mooring a sailboat.
